In 2017, Exhibit Concepts contracted with Erin McClelland Museum Services to develop content – including research, script writing, and artifact and graphics selection – for the new permanent gallery at the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center in Liberty, Texas. A division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the center includes a 2,000 square foot exhibition space as well as several historic structures on the grounds. To develop the narrative, Erin conducted a half-day charrette with community stakeholders and consulted with staff and historical resources extensively. The new exhibit incorporates the Center’s archival and object collections to tell a thematic story of the ten southeast Texas counties that made up the historic Atascosito District.
