Texas Forestry Museum

In 2013, the Texas Forestry Museum in Lufkin, TX, hired Erin to consult on their current exhibits. Facing declining attendance, the museum sought guidance on reimagining their permanent and temporary exhibits in order to attract more visitors. In addition to developing a written report, Erin led a day-long on-site charrette with museum staff.

Major components of the final report included:

  • Critique of existing permanent exhibits;
  • Recommendations for short-term and long-term renovations to the galleries;
  • Temporary exhibition concept;
  • Programming recommendations;
  • Discussion of exhibition philosophies;
  • Recommended resource list; and
  • Cost estimates for subsequent phases of work.
